Dear students, faculty, staff and the extended Booth University College community,
During this time of uncertainty regarding COVID-19, Booth UC is actively engaged in supporting the efforts of public health authorities to help restrain the spread of the virus. Our priority is to take action that will minimize health risks to those on campus, and, by extension, within the communities in which we live.
Conditions continue to change at a rapid pace and we are currently undergoing a two-day pause in classes to give our faculty and staff time to prepare for the days and weeks ahead. We will continue to share updates on our Booth UC website as they become available. Please be sure to monitor your Booth UC website, social media and email to receive current and accurate information on all that is taking place.
Our Crisis Management Team is meeting regularly to review emerging challenges and provide a timely response. I commend this group to you for their diligence, flexibility, and responsiveness as they carry out their roles.
We ask for your continued patience and understanding as we work to keep Booth UC as operational as possible, while recognizing that these are difficult days. We encourage all students and employees to practice self-care while continuing to follow the guidelines set out by Manitoba Health.
While we act with all diligence, we do not respond from a place of fear. I share with you the words of Isaiah 41:13:
“For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you,
Do not fear; I will help you.”
Let us continue to care for each other, to encourage each other, to seek each others’ well-being. And let us remind each other of God’s great love, even as we navigate this journey through the Lenten season. We venture forward in the confidence that we have a loving and caring God who is with us.
God bless you,
Dr. Marjory Kerr, President
