With the fall term right around the corner, we asked some of our students, staff and faculty what they are looking forward to about back to school!

To be present for the “aha” when students discover new concepts, methods, or perspectives is rewarding, especially when we’re studying my favorite subjects—Jesus and the Bible. I am an active learner as much as the students, and this communion of learning nurtures deep, lasting growth.
– Dr. Isaiah Allen, Assistant Professor of Religion
Going to Booth UC means that I will be among students who have the desire to be part of a transformative community. I’m looking forward to that.
– Jin Nuyda, First-year student
Even though we are beginning the term virtually, there is still always a sense of excitement and anticipation around the start of a school year. I’m looking forward to engaging with students again, and maybe even planning for a few on-campus events!
– Kim Kakegamic, Communications Specialist
I’m really excited about meeting students! (But also am nervous about all the initial interactions happening online. 😊)
– Wendi Thiessen, Director, School of Business
I am looking forward to getting back to class, especially the class discussions we have, as they promote learning from each other.
– Elshika Nathali Hettiarachchi, Interdisciplinary Studies student
Even with some continued uncertainty as to what life will look like, I am so excited about having a little bit of normal return to campus. I’m looking forward to more people being around and reconnecting with staff, students, and faculty. And I’m also really excited to be taking a Booth UC course for fun, simply because I love being in the classroom!
– Kailey Gillis (BA/20), Admissions Counsellor
