Booth UC Launches New Speaker Series: TOOLKIT TALKS

October 4, 2021

As part of our ongoing commitment to provide Education for a Better World, Booth UC has launched Toolkit Talks. This new lecture series is designed to share knowledge on a broad range of important and timely topics, with guests who are experts in their fields.

The theme of the inaugural 2021/22 series is Self-Care and Personal Well-Being, and we are thrilled to introduce the first two events in our line-up:

On November 2, 2021, Captain Barb Stanley will present Helpful Boundaries in Relationships.

What are you responsible for in relationships? Whether it is a professional or personal relationship, find out how to set healthy limits!
From the seminal work of Cloud and Townsend, this lecture will cover the basic principles of setting good limits within your relationships so that you can determine what you are responsible for, and what you are not responsible for. This ability to set healthy limits will lead to freedom and joy.

On January 19, 2022, Lieut. Colonel (Dr.) Susan van Duinen will present What Makes Your Heart Sing?

It’s a new year. So let’s explore  “What Makes Your Heart Sing?” This inquiry will help you get in touch with what truly gives you joy in life. It asks you, just for a moment, to imagine you’re blissfully happy and feeling true joy – free and light of all cares and worry. You can’t help but smile (within or without) and you feel relaxed and at peace with yourself and the world. You may even feel a glow from within and a spaciousness in your heart.  Is this even possible in our world today?

The events are free and open to anyone in the Booth UC community and beyond! You can find more information about the lectures and how to register at www.boothuc.ca/tookit-talks
