Booth UC Set to Host the Earl Robinson Memorial Lecture Series

September 11, 2020

Booth University College is thrilled to announce that this fall and winter we will, once again, be hosting the Earl Robinson Memorial Lecture Series: Christian Faith in the World.

The Series was established to honour the memory and contributions of Colonel Earl Robinson of The Salvation Army, especially as the founding President of Booth University College.

The first lecture will take place online, September 29 at 7pm. Dr. Donald Burke will be presenting “Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth: Is There a Salvationist Way of Interpreting the Bible?”

Dr. Donald Burke, Interim President

Dr. Burke has been teaching Scripture at Booth University College since it opened in 1982. As a Salvationist, he has been thinking about how his Wesleyan-Salvationist heritage shapes the way he reads and understands the Bible. In this presentation, he draws upon this reflection to make several suggestions about how Salvationists should interpret the Scriptures.
