Chancellor of Booth UC, Commissioner Floyd Tidd, to Step Aside Due to Health Concerns

June 21, 2023

With much prayerful support, we announce that our Chancellor, Commissioner Floyd Tidd will be stepping aside due to health concerns. Commissioner Tidd has been on a difficult health journey since 2021, when he shared with the community that he was diagnosed with prostate cancer and subsequently with ocular cancer. Along with his wife, Commissioner Tracey Tidd, they have made the decision to take a medical leave of absence from September 1, 2023, to January 1, 2024, at which time they will assess their full-time ministry future.

“We are grateful to God for his presence and provision and also want to thank you for your care and concern as expressed through calls, cards, texts and emails. We value your support and that of the broader Salvation Army family as you remember us and our family in prayer. Please know that we continue to rely on God’s strength day by day.” – Commissioners Floyd and Tracey Tidd

Booth UC’s new Chancellor will be Commissioner Lee Graves, effective September 1, 2023. We welcome him back to the Booth UC community. Commissioner Graves previously served as Vice Chair on our Board of Trustees.

Commissioner Tidd, we deeply appreciate the leadership you have provided over the years. We will continue to hold you and your family in our prayers.
