Congratulations Dr. Mariciel Nuyda

Congratulations to Dr. Mariciel Nuyda, our Dean of the School for Continuing Studies, on her recent Pinays Trailblazer Award! The award is given to Filipino women who continue to make positive impacts in their fields.

Mariciel is a 2022 Pinays Trailblazer because she is the first Filipino woman immigrant to become a Dean at Booth University College. Her advocacy for education and continuous learning has steered her towards developing community capacity building programs and making them accessible to immigrants and marginalized communities. These programs help open opportunities that positively impact many communities.

“After not being able to celebrate in person for over two years, Pinays Manitoba held a very well attended recognition luncheon on May 28, 2022, to honour five outstanding Filipino women – the Pinays Trailblazer Awardees: Police Constable Maria Buduhan, Virginia “Jean” Guiang-Santoro, Dean Mariciel Nuyda, Dr. Crystal Paculan, and Gina Trinidad.” (from http://www.pilipino-express.com/)
