In pre-Covid times, April 25th would have seen graduates, faculty, family, friends, and guests gather in person, on-campus, and at Knox United Church in Winnipeg. Nevertheless, it was still a day of celebration and festivities as Booth University College held its 2021 Spring Convocation and Conferring of Degrees online. We also celebrated the 2020 graduates, as last year we did not have the chance to prepare a virtual convocation.
A total of 162 students graduated with either a diploma, certificate, or degree, and we’d like to congratulate each and every one of them and offer many prayers and blessings as they move beyond Booth University College to the next stage of their journey.
We’d also like to thank special guest speakers Commissioner Floyd Tidd (Chancellor) and Commissioner M. Christine MacMillan, who was bestowed a Doctor of Laws (honoris causa). Other honours given throughout the ceremony included Professor Emeritus to Dr. Roy Jeal, Professor Emerita to Bonnie Bryant, Chancellor’s Medal to Joshwill Tampai, and General’s Medal to Lieutenant Kassandra Cain.
We’d also like to express our deep appreciation to The Salvation Army’s media production team in Toronto, who provided the technological resources to create a seamless production.
Thank you and congratulations to all. Time to celebrate your remarkable achievements!
