Heritage Days celebrate the original vision and values of Booth UC and its relevance in today’s world. This includes recognizing the contributions of the Salvation Army in promoting Education for a Better World. This year’s theme is “When the World Closes Its Eyes, Open Them…To Climate Justice.” During the week we will have guest speakers, special meals in the Bistro, displays and a thrift store fashion show!
Feb. 5, 11:20 am in Hetherington Chapel: A special community gathering with Crystal Porter, SA Divisional youth secretary; Zoe Matties, A Roche Canada; and Steve Bell, Musician & Environmental Activist on a panel moderated by Dr. Roy Jeal. They will discuss, “A Christian Response to Climate Change”
The lunch special in the Bistro will be Chana Biryani, which contains foods that are at risk due to climate change.
Feb. 6, 11:20 am in Booth Bistro:A thrift store fashion show! Featuring students modelling outfits from The Salvation Army’s thrift stores.
The lunch special in the Bistro will be Mussels with Tomatoes and Lentils, which are made with sustainable foods.
There will also be displays set up for the entire week to learn more about what Booth UC is doing to address the impacts of climate change.
