Introducing our new Interim President, Lieutenant-Colonel (Dr.) Susan van Duinen

At the beginning of this month, the Booth University College Board of Trustees announced that Lieutenant-Colonel (Dr.) Susan van Duinen has accepted the appointment of Interim President and Vice-Chancellor of Booth University College with effect 14 June 2021. She will replace the current Interim President, Dr. Donald Burke, who after seeing the University College through a very challenging year, has chosen to return to his position as Professor of Biblical Studies and his first academic love, teaching. Everyone at Booth UC wishes to thank Dr. Burke for his amazing contribution to the life and breath of Booth University College over the year.

Lt-Colonel (Dr.) van Duinen comes to her new position with vast leadership and education experience. As Dean of the School for Continuing Studies at Booth University College from 2014-2017, she successfully used project and change management principles to bring about the formation of a solid structure for the school, and in so doing, helped to fulfil Booth UC’s mission of providing “Education for a Better World.” Since 2017, she has continued to teach cadets at the College for Officer Training and certificate courses in chaplaincy, management and leadership as part of the Booth UC offering. She has a Doctor of Ministry (Counselling) from Providence University College and Seminary in Winnipeg and a Master of Divinity from Tyndale University in Toronto. She is a Certified Professional Leadership Coach, has extensive experience as a presenter at national and international conferences, and is a sought-after Executive Leadership and Life Coach consultant.

Welcome Dr. van Duinen, we are thrilled to have you at Booth University College!
