Cynthia Sottie

MSW, PhD, RSW

Director School of Social Work, Associate Professor of Social Work

Associate Professor of Social Work and a former Chair of the Department of Social Work at the University of Ghana. A registered Social Worker with the Manitoba College of Social Workers, Canada. Experience with teaching in higher education since 2000. Past research includes policies related to education access and outcomes, mental health and stigma, and issues related to poverty and marginalization. Current areas of research include topics in international social work and immigrant and newcomer issues. I believe social work is a calling to positively impact humanity, to give hope to those who have given up, to advocate for and empower vulnerable populations.
