Instructional Designer

Louis Svenningsen earned his PhD from the University of Manitoba, with a focus on post-secondary teaching and learning. He has been an instructor at several universities, teaching in face-to-face, blended, and online environments. His work history includes working as an Instructional Designer with the University of Manitoba, followed by appointment at the University of Winnipeg as an Instructional Technologist. Louis has been a co-author of several research articles and a book chapter on digital and personalized learning, and he has presented at numerous conferences. Louis’ educational interests involve assessing and developing newer approaches to post-secondary education in combination with standard and well-supported theories and designs. Currently, as the Instructional Designer at Booth University College, Louis is available to support instructors with all aspects of online teaching and course design. Louis has enjoyed a long and happy marriage and relishes spending time with his three adult children. His interests include reading whatever strikes his current curiosities, the arts in various formats, and taking his dogs for walks in the park.
