Major Roxanne Jennings
Major Jennings was commissioned as a Salvation Army Officer in June of 1988. She has served in church and social service settings from coast to coast, as well as in Bermuda.
At this point in her Officership, Roxanne has successfully completed training in chaplaincy, possesses a degree in biblical and theological studies, and holds a master’s degree in leadership. While serving in Victoria, BC, Roxanne took on a dual role of Chaplain at Sunset Lodge and Area Commander for Vancouver Island. In June 2012, she took on the full-time senior role as Area Commander for the Ontario Central East Division of The Salvation Army, a role that earned her the respect of her peers, as well as her supervisors.
The senior role of Area Commander encompassed oversight of 31 ministry units in Ontario Central East Division. Roxanne demonstrated a high degree of administrative expertise and acumen in this responsibility.
In June 2015, Roxanne was selected for the role of Executive Director at the Barbara Mitchell Family Resource Centre in Winnipeg. She was responsible for the oversight of all day-to-day functions of the facility and she oversaw a staff of 13. Roxanne’s passion for building strong communities and her personal vision of “Giving Hope Today” manifested through her commitment to all with whom she came in contact.
In July 2017, Roxanne was appointed as the Director of Field Education for The Salvation Army College for Officer Training. She is excited about this new ministry opportunity and looks forward to helping shape the field practicum experience for Cadets.
