Mariciel has been in the education sector for over 30 years, both as Administrator and instructor. Her areas of expertise include maths, research and curriculum design. She was a lecturer for educational institutions in the UK, Australia and the Philippines. Some of these include Pearson/BTEC (Business and Technology Education Council), University of Chester, IHMES International School.
She joined Booth University College as the Registrar then moved on to be the Instructional Design at SCS. Currently, as Dean of SCS, she oversees the online delivery of undergraduate courses and certificate courses for both The Salvation Army and the public. She also oversees operations of the Corporate Learning Academy (CLA) and partnerships with Salvation Army's International Headquarters (IHQ) and Territorial Headquarters (THQ).
