The Impact of Lifelong Learning with Major Andrew Morgan (BA/06)

“I would say that among the biblical courses, I was most impacted by Dr. Don Burke’s Old Testament teaching. Most memorable was his personable classroom presence,” says Major (Dr) Andrew Morgan.

Major Andrew knows what he is talking about! An alum of Booth University College, he completed his BA in 2006, and went on to complete his MBA at the University of Toronto in 2007 and his PhD in Organizational Leadership from Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia in 2020.

“I finished my Booth UC degree before online and hybrid course offerings were available—so I had to travel to Winnipeg for week-long intensive courses, which were both educationally enriching and spiritually formative as we lived and worshipped in the Booth UC community.”

As is fitting for a lifelong learner, he went on to share his expertise with appointments at The Salvation Army College for Officer Training (CFOT). From 2015-2018 he served as Assistant Training Principal and from 2018-2022 as Training Principal. As often happens, life took Major Andrew full circle, as these past 7 years at CFOT were spent right down the road from Booth UC, where his post-secondary education began.

Andrew and his wife, Darlene Morgan (BA/14), are embarking on a new adventure on September 1, 2022. Their newest appointments will be as The Salvation Army’s Officer Commanding and Command President of Women’s Ministries, Italy and Greece Command, with the ranks of Lieutenant Colonel. We wish them well as they take their Education for a Better World to Europe and beyond.
