Mark Stewart

Mark Stewart is a lived experience leader working in the shelter sector. Combined, Mark has 20 years of experience in social services. He is currently the executive director of The Salvation Army’s Winnipeg Centre of Hope. He has served the community for 17 years with The Salvation Army, including three years as the executive director at the Ridge Meadows Ministries in British Columbia. Mark is passionate about working with marginalized, vulnerable community members to create positive outcomes. He believes in the indelible links between homelessness, addiction, and mental health that create disadvantages in health and housing. Mark has a degree in conflict resolution from the University of Winnipeg, a certificate in not-for-profit management from Booth University College, and a diploma in applied counselling from Red River Polytechnic. He is currently working on completing a graduate degree in leadership from Trinity Western University. Outside of work and volunteering, Mark enjoys spending time with family, including his grandchildren; cheering on the Winnipeg Jets; and hitting the open road on his motorcycle.
