Are you interested in a book, article, or resource that isn't in our collection? We can help. You can either request to borrow from another library, or request a purchase.

Borrow From Another Library

The Interlibrary Loans service is only available to Booth University College and CFOT staff and students. To request books or articles that are not held in the John Fairbank Memorial Library, complete the form. Be sure to include your student or staff number.

You can request up to 5 items per day. We must reimburse the lending library for delivery and handling charges. If a request exceeds $10, we'll notify you and you'll be required to pay the additional cost.

You will be contacted when the item(s) are available for pick-up.

Allow 7-10 days for us to fill book orders.

  • When requesting books, search our catalogue to make sure we do not hold a copy.
  • Books must be returned within three weeks after receving them. There are no renewals allowed on ILL books.

Allow 2-5 days for us to fill article orders.

  • When requesting articles or book chapters, make sure the full text of the article you require is not in one of our fulltext databases. Search articles and databases.
  • Photocopies of journal articles are yours to keep.

Suggest a Purchase

Are you interested in a book, journal, or media items that we don't have? Recommend it to the Library for purchase.

Provide at least two weeks for us to order and catalogue the item before the start of the semester. To expedite your request, please enter as much information as possible.

This service is available to members of the Booth UC and CFOT community only.
