Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE)

Through our partnership with the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), students can access outstanding educational tools and resources in the area of fraud prevention and detection. The ACFE is the world’s largest anti-fraud organization, with more than 80,000 members, and the association provides Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designation.

Given the exceptionally high number of white-collar crimes, it is necessary to emphasize the significance of anti-fraud knowledge and skills provided by the School of Business’ financial crimes major and course on fraud examination. Upon graduation, students may pursue their CFE designation to round out their professional education.

The CFE skill set includes:

  • Understanding how fraud is committed and how it can be identified
  • Examining books and records to detect and trace fraudulent transactions
  • Interviewing suspects to obtain information and confessions
  • Writing investigation reports, advising clients as to their findings and testifying at trial
  • Understanding the underlying factors that motivate individuals to commit fraud

Association of Certified Financial Crimes Specialists

A strategic partnership with the Association of Certified Financial Crime Specialists (ACFCS) will help prepare students who major in financial crimes to take the Certified Financial Crime Specialist (CFCS) examination and eventually become CFCS-certified. This is the only certification to verify knowledge and skills across all areas of financial crime. Students also have access to significantly reduced pricing on ACFCS membership and their prestigious CFCS certification.
