Alumni

Booth UC recently caught up with one of our distinguished alumni, Yinka Akinola, who graduated in April 2022 with a Diploma in Business Administration. Yinka was born and raised in Nigeria but decided to pursue his education in Winnipeg, Canada. After thoughtful research, he made up his mind. "I chose Booth UC because it is a Christian Institution. That was one major thing that stood out for me. Apart from that, it is one of the more affordable schools for international students in Canada. Affordability is one of the things every international student looks for when trying to decide on a school to attend," says Yinka.

After completing his studies at Booth UC, Yinka decided to pursue further Business Analysis training. Having a Business Administration diploma made transitioning very easy. Today, he works with a consulting firm as a Business Analyst and is looking forward to seeing what the future holds. But his passions extend beyond his day job, as he is also a pastor and hosts gospel concerts with his music team. “I have been able to incorporate the learnings and experiences I had at Booth UC into my professional and personal life, and I am grateful for that.”

Yinka has many fond memories of his time at Booth UC. He recalls playing indoor soccer/Futsal on Monday evenings, fellowship in the chapel, and open mic events at the Bistro as some of his favourite memories. "Those were precious moments," Yinka remembers. He also speaks highly of his professors, naming Professors Laszlo Markovics and Roy Jeal as his favourites.

To anyone considering attending Booth UC, he says, “I am a proud alum, and I would recommend Booth UC anytime, any day." Yinka Akinola's success and passion for his education and faith are truly inspiring, and we are honoured to have him as a part of the Booth UC community.
