Community Life

A new academic year is almost here. What are you looking forward to most about being back on campus?
We want to hear from you!
Let us know what you are excited about as a new year at Booth UC begins. What are you anticipating? What class piques your interest? Is there something you've missed over the summer?
Here are a few responses we have gotten so far:

"I enjoy working with students and instructors all year in the School for Continuing Studies. For the upcoming fall term, I’m excited for new chaplaincy and leadership essentials students to start their programs!" - Kristen McLean, Administrative and Program Coordinator

“I’m looking forward to getting to know new and returning students. The start of new things always brings excitement and renewed energy to me and I think the whole community.” - Shannon Loewen, Registrar

“The start of the new term for me has always signalled fresh starts, a new season in life. This new term will carry some very pleasant nostalgia for me, as each student will remind me that I was here many years ago as a student myself! I am looking forward to seeing everyone's excitement as they walk through this chapter of their lives. I wish blessings and success to each one of you.” - Cheryl Melbourne, Student Services Assistant and Receptionist

"Fall and the return to school is an exciting time, for me, because it signals a commitment not only to applying oneself to personal betterment, but also, by extension, to bettering society as a function of the valuable assignments and discussions we will take home or to work with us when the day, week, or term, is done.  Really, it’s a return to a locally-based, worldwide project of stewardship, conciliation, healing, and renewal, in which we all get to play a valuable role as collaborator – let’s go!" - Dr. Aaron Klassen, Assistant Professor, Sociology

"I’ve never been more excited about serving on the faculty at Booth University College. The 2023-2024 academic year is an exciting one for Booth, with new leadership and new investments in our capacity to deliver quality programs to students. I’m most excited about working with diverse students on a wiki document to help Bible readers understand how the New Testament is a resource for justice—a major project in the special topics course—Race and Early Christianity." - Isaiah Allen, Assistant Professor, Religion
