At Booth University College, we strive to make a high-quality education as affordable as possible through programs that recognize and reward students. We asked a few of our scholarship recipients, including Regina Badibe, what this meant for them.
Why did you choose Booth UC?
First of all, I want to say thank you Booth UC for giving me the opportunity to learn; learning is very important to me. I chose Booth UC because of its diversity and inclusive community. This is also very important to me because I believe that learning happens not only in the classroom but also by talking to individuals from different backgrounds and who have different perspectives and outlooks in life. I love giving back to the community, and Booth UC is a great place to start. I come from a Christian background, and since I was a child, I have been fascinated by the idea of creating social change and advocating for those who have no voice. In short, I chose Booth UC because it aligns with my academic goals, values, and lifestyle. I am very excited about the opportunities that await me by being a part of this school.
How does the scholarship you received impact your life and/or your studies?
Receiving this scholarship has had a significant impact on both my life and my studies. It not only provided financial support but also gave me a sense of confidence and motivation. I'm grateful for these opportunities. They influence me to give back to the community because I want others to feel motivated and encouraged in a life-changing way. I want to share the opportunities that have been given to me through my education to impact the lives of others while continuing my education. My goal is to contribute to a better society.
How do you plan on using your “Education for a Better World”?
As a social work professional, I want to have a positive impact on people’s lives. Social workers have a lot of power, and this should be used properly and wisely.
In short, my strategy for using my education to improve the world is to apply my knowledge in my professional life, increase my understanding of social issues, and dedicate myself to lifelong learning. I am excited about the future possibilities and determined to leverage my education as a beneficial transition tool.
